Can’t figure out how to add RPO’s to your offense? Learn how a simple run play can actually have 4 or more options.
This week’s podcast I break into the RPO offensive play development where you can see how I add options to plays. I cover my favorite play 21 Personnel Power and a simple RPO off of that as well as a Spread Offense Zone Read RPO that you can build up to 6 options off of it.

Most teams aren’t doing all 3 of these things consistently. So if you want to win more ball games, this may be the easiest way without adding 1 ounce of talent to your roster.
This week’s podcast we talk about the three things I believe will result in much easier wins for your team. I also share my opinion on what I see coaches acting like in game that is completely distracting and not helpful to players.

A live chat about setting up your first day’s practice scripts for your Spread Offense, Pro Style Offense, Triple Option Offense or Wing T offense.
This week’s podcast we jump into a quick strategy session where we set up a practice script live for the first day of practice. Once you get those plays in your spreadsheet you can easily create multiple scripts like Inside Run and Team Offense.
If you haven’t been much of a practice script writer, make this the season you start. Even if you just start with a team offense period script. It’s a great practice as a coach to get your mind thinking about how you want to string plays together. It’s one thing to look at a defense and say this or that will work but it’s another to set up a sequence of calls that controls a defense or sets up future plays to be highly effective based on what teams have seen from you before. Do you have a great bubble screen game? How to know which Bubble Screens you should be running against different looks.
I love my Bubble Screen Playbook. In fact I love it so much it replaced my quick game. Yea, we still throw hitches and slants, but other then that…the bubble is so much deadlier so why waste time elsewhere?
In this episode I’ll show you how to make your Bubble Screen package deadlier than ever and how you can be a true spread offense by simple adding it and using them as Pre-snap RPO’s. I promise you it will change your game and if you are already doing it and struggling, I’ll give you some keys that you have to do to make sure it works every single time. Can’t get a football coaching job? Here’s why you might not be having any luck getting hired.
I get questions often about how to get hired as a football coach. If you really want to coach football, then you have to get some experience. But getting experience means getting hired and sometimes that’s a lot harder than it looks. But rest assured you can get there, it’s just going to take patience and making sure you don’t have any of these 7 reasons for a coach to decide not to hire you. All of these coaches started where you were at one point so there are no excuses! Continue reading “PSSO S4E9 Top 7 Reasons A Football Coach Won’t Hire You”
What you can learn from Frost’s UCF Offense. Get RPO tricks, the “Spacing” concept and “Shakes” route from these 5 plays broken down.
UCF under Scott Frost had one of the most prolific offenses of Division I football last season. So I decided to crack it open with an analysis of his first five plays of the AAC championship game against Memphis. In these first five plays I talk about the Spacing Route and why the progression starts from the sideline, the “shakes” route and progression, a simple RPO pre-snap read and why the QB gives it instead of keeping or throwing the bubble screen. What are the basics of Cover 4? This one play is the best way to take a shot against it.
This episode marks the fourth episode of our spread offense passing series where am breaking down different coverages and their individual strengths and weaknesses. This week is Cover 4 which is a great coverage for defenses but in my opinion is one of the most difficult for coaches to teach.
Cover 4 can be attacked on the edges but watch out for those squatting Safeties! True cover 4 is a match up coverage like Cover 2 which is why it can be difficult to throw against. Fortunately there are some good options – especially a Shot pass I picked up from Tom Herman that I think you will love! This episode marks the second episode of a series where I will be breaking down different coverages and their individual strengths and weaknesses. This week is Cover 2.
